Win His Heart

Antonio Fernandez Carriedo. That is the name of world academy’s Spanish teacher. Everyone loves him. He is kind caring and his smile can melt even the coldest of hearts. Except one. Lovino Vargas. Ever since the Spaniard laid his eyes on the young Italian he was in love. One problem. He was a student at the academy and a relationship between a teacher and student is prohibited. But this didn’t stop him from trying to get the boys attention.

The school bell rings and students pour into the class room. Emerald eyes search the students for a certain auburn haired boy. He gins when he sees him but it falters when he realizes it’s his twin Feliciano Vargas. He keeps the grins as all the students take their seats and there is no sign of Lovino.

‘Where is, is he sick, did he get hurt?’ Antonio thinks trying to hide his panic

Not long after he thinks these thoughts the door opens and Lovino walks in unharmed. Much to the Spaniards relief. Antonio stares at Lovino’s back as he walks to his seat at the back of the classroom. Antonio wishes he had chosen a seat closer to him. He shakes his head and begins the class. He stand up holding a stack of papers.

“Alright class I have the results from yesterday’s test” he announces as he walks around handing back the papers.

He can feel himself getting giddy as he approaches Lovino’s desk. He hands him his test with a note hidden behind it. After he returns to the front.

“For those who got a mark below 20 then I am giving after school tutoring”

Lovino looks at his test. 14. Damn. Now he had to go to that after school tutoring. He sees the note attached to the back of his test and frowns. He takes it and opens it. In neatly written cursive is.

Will you go out with me?

Antonio tries to hide his disappointment as Lovino crumples up the paper and shoves it in his pocket.

“Mr. Carriedo, are you alright?” a student asks

"Ah, sí, estoy bien" he replies

The student takes a moment before nodding in understanding. He returns to the lesson, picking up the stylus and writing on the Smart Board. Throughout the class he continued to glance at Lovino but Lovino is staring down as his notes. The class ends and the students file out of the room. Antonio waits until they’re all gone before sighing. Another failed attempt to get Lovino’s attention. He doesn’t even look up when the blond hair blue eyed culinary arts teacher Francis Bonnefoy walks in the room.

“Ah mon ami, you have fallen hard” he says, pulling a chair up to the desk and siting on it backwards

“Si, I have and he won’t accept any of my advances”

“Then why do you pursue him?” Francis asks “Sure he is cute but that’s all he has going for him, he is rude, he swears a lot and he is a student”

“You’re wrong about Lovi, I have seen the other side of him” Antonio pretests “He is sweet caring and a good brother”

Francis raised an eyebrow.

“Lovi? You already have a nickname for him”

“Of course, he is mi amour”

“And yet he isn’t”

Antonio pouts. He crosses his arms and rests them on his desk buries his face in them. Francis sighs as his dejected friend.

“If you want I could help you”

Francis almost immediately regrets saying that when Antonio looks up at him, hope sparkling in his eyes.

“Really?”

“…Oui…”

Antonio leaps up from his chair throwing his arms in the air and cheering. He practically jumps over the desk to hug Francis who almost fall out if his chair. Francis steadies himself and pushes his friend back in his chair.

“We need to figure out how to get you and him alone” Francis says

“Well he did poorly on a test and has to come to after school tutoring” Antonio informs

“That’s perfect!” Francis exclaims

“But four other students are coming to” Antonio adds

“You didn’t make it so he was alone?”

“No, I treat all my students fairly”

Francis face palms.

“That’s probably why he keeps rejecting you” he sighs

“What?” Antonio asks confused

“You need to treat him like he is special”

Antonio opens his mouth to speak “But don’t give him easier work it will make him think you think he is dumb”

“So what do I do?” Antonio asks

“Give him different work and make it a bit suggestive”

“Suggestive how?”

“Put words and phrases related to love like ‘I love you’ and ‘Will you go out with me?’”

Antonio nods and write the suggestions on a paper.

“Any more ideas?”

Francis shakes his head.

“I’m sure you get the just of it so good luck to you mon ami”

Francis stand and walks out of the room. Antonio watches him leave then turns to the paper.

‘I can do this, I will win his heart’

And with that Antonio begins writing.
